Greenock Ocean Terminal Facilities

Greenock Ocean Terminal is a visitor attraction and the main cruise destination port in the West of Scotland.

It is located on the beautiful Firth of Clyde and is 24 miles/39 km from Glasgow. The stunning £20 million visitor centre was officially opened in August 2023. Peel Ports Clydeport is one of the busiest ports in the UK with up to a hundred cruise ships visiting during the summer season, as well as several hundred cargo and container ships throughout the year.

2023 was a record year for cruise ship numbers with Greenock welcoming over 150,000 passengers from around the world. The addition of a 200-metre floating pontoon provides a dedicated cruise ship berth capable of accommodating the largest vessels. As larger cruise ships are berthed alongside the quay, there is no need for tendering passengers.

For cruise passengers, there is a short walk from the quayside into Greenock Ocean Terminal.

Facilities

In addition to the spacious arrival/departure hall for cruise ship passengers, the terminal is home to:

• Inverclyde Tourist Group's Tourist Information Desks can be found in the foyer for most cruise ship days to help all visitor make the most of their visit to Inverclyde;
• The Wyllieum is a museum which pays tribute to the world-famous Scottish artist George Wyllie (1921-2012) who lived in Inverclyde for most of his life;
• Scotts Bar & Restaurant is a highly rated restaurant which is situated on the upper floor and features a roof terrace with panoramic views across the River Clyde.
